     1.  Why are some people addicted to coffee or tea?

     A. Coffee and tea have distinctive flavours that many people find very pleasant, but taste alone does not account for some people's dependence on frequent cups from early morning to late at night.
Heavy tea and coffee drinkers seek the increased alertness or clearer thinking they experience after drinking a cup of either brew. The 'wake-me-up' properties of tea and coffee can become addictive. The chemical in both coffee and tea that stimulates our nervous system is caffeine, which is also found naturally in cacao beans, used to make chocolate. Tea also contains a small amount of a more potent stimulant, theophylline.
Once caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream, it can reach all parts of the body, and causes a variety of effects. It makes the heart pump more blood, but it decreases the blood flow to the brain by constricting blood vessels there. Perhaps it compensates for this by stimulating the cerebral cortex, to give us a more alert feeling! Too much caffeine can cause irritability, nervousness, jumpiness, irregular heartbeat, headaches, insomnia and other unpleasant symptoms.
Those who are addicted to the flavour, but not the caffeine of coffee and tea, can use decaffeinated products, which provide the taste without the jolt!

Melbourne school makes shorts and pants mandatory to encourage girls t exercise

  • Melbourne school has made shorts and pants for young girls to encourage physical activity.
  • Grammar school have ditched uniform dresses and skirts.
  • Girls reported that they were not feeling comfortable while playing and to sit.
  • There was strong support from girls and parents to move this idea.
  • School principal also supported for the importance of physical activity and mental health.
  • Evelina Jona from the parents council said it was important for schools to balance issues with freedom of choice.

opinion : In my opinion it is mandatory rule to make in every school because girls are not comfortable while they are playing. If they wear pants instead of skirts they feels more comfortable. They can participate in all activities like boys. Government should bring rule in every school to wear pants and shorts instead of skirts and dresses.

  • every school strives to boost student results, the key ingredients that drive this improvement are difficult to pinpoint.
Main ideas:

1.  Good relationships:
  • Best schools go out of their way to forge strong ties between teachers, students, and parents.
  • Good relationships encourage students to achieve top marks and to attend the state's most prestigious universities.
  • Schools rolled out student voices emerge as crowned schools.
  • Dispute resolution is great and healthy with good partnerships.
2.High Expectations:
  • The culture of high expectations permeates these schools.
  • Right exposure to a variety of careers and further education opportunities are provided to the students.
  • Students are given the confidence to achieve their dreams.
  • Experts from Melbourne Education Research Institute at the University of Melbourne iterates that “best schools don’t stream students according to their ability”.
3.Flexibility:
  •  Best schools don’t promote one, narrow idea of success. They encourage students to pursue their interests and tailor their education accordingly.
  • Mentone Grammar School principal Mal Cater said: “Schools should not assume that all students want to attend university”.
  • Schools that offer flexibility let students enroll in rigorous VCAL programs as a vocational alternative to the VCE.
4. Clear Expectations and Goals.
  • Students have a clear idea of what is expected of them in every class and work towards goals.
  • During structured lessons, the teacher demonstrates the skills that students need to learn and constantly check their understanding of key concepts. In education circles, this is called “explicit instruction”.
  • The Grattan Institute's school education director Peter Goss said: “the schools that have won awards have done it the hard way by improving their teaching, conversations with the school community and boosting students' confidence”.
